My personal story from Fat to Fit

Duing my first pregnancy, I put on 22 kg. At full term of pregnancy, the height of my pregnancy, I was 86kg. After I gave birth, I tried my best to reduce my weight. After post natal massage, I was at 79kg. It was a struggle –worrying about my weight and taking care of a new baby. But I was happy and focused all my efforts on my firstborn. After 2 months, my weight was at 77kg. I skipped meals thinking that that was the way to reduce my weight. At 1.65, my ideal weight should be 58kg. It was disheartening but I kept myself busy with my baby. Over 2 years, my weight hovered between 73 to 75kg no matter how little I ate. I was a double XL. Worst, I had a pear shaped figure.

Then after 2 years, I got pregnant again. Imagine being pregnant with a weight of 73kg to start with! I piled on another 18kg during my second pregnancy. I was really huge during the second pregnancy. I couldn’t even recognize myself. I was constantly panting – even walking to the clinic for doctor’s appointment was tedious I was already 34 years old then. After giving birth to my 2nd daughter, and after 2 weeks post natal massage and skipping meals, my weight stuch at 79kg. I was wearing size 14 clothes or double XL. My self esteem was at all time low and I was feeling really depressed When my baby was 6 months old, I was still wearing maternity clothes to work. I took a good look at myself in the mirror and said, I have to take control of my body or else how do I take charge of my life with 2 young kids (including a baby) at 35 years old?

I decided that since dieting didn’t work, I had to exercise. I hated exercising actually and I was quite skeptical that I could ever be as silm as I was before I got married. But I had to try as there were no other options. Nevertheless I set a humble target of 70kg. My husband brought me to the gym ( where he was already a member) and I signed for the gym’s membership and a personal trainer as I didn’t know how to even start exercising. That trip to the gym was the turing point in my life. My personal trainer taught me what to eat and how to eat . I was never hungry and I changed my whole outlook on dieting and exercise. With a healthy diet plan and a systematic exercise regime, I lost 1 kg in 2 weeks and in 10 months ,I lost 20kg. I surprised myself because I actually reached my ideal weight of 56kg within a year. Actually I was ecstatic! But it took sheer determination and persevearance as results are not overnight. But it was a sure and steady way of losing weight healthily plus I was never hungry and people commented I looked so much better.


Foolproof way of Permanent Weight Loss

Having reached my ideal weight of 56kg, I continued to exercise to maintain my ideal weight. I started loving exercise as I felt healthier and fitter than I ever did before. Then I got pregnant again at the age of 37. I wasn’t worried about putting on weight as I knew I could do it again . I put on 20kg again and it was the best pregnancy I ever had though I was so much older. Thanks to my healthy lifestyle prior to the 3rd pregnancy. I really enjoyed my 3rd pgrenancy as I felt really really good and healthy. After giving birth to my 3rd daughter via C section ( as in the other 2 pregnancies too), I had a month of post natal massage after which I lost 10kg , thanks to healthy confinement diet too. After the 3rd month, I was given the green light by my gynae to start exercising. My personal trainer customized an exercise regime to help me shed my post pregnancy weight and flab. After 4 months, I was visibly slim. When my baby was 8 months old, I was already almost at my ideal weight. It was unbelievable. And I was truly convinced of the wonders of healthy living.

My Passion

Having been obese myself f when I was in my early 30s, I understand how frustrating it is for a woman to worry about her weight. And how being overweight can affect our self esteem and shadow our happiness being mothers. I have been there and that’s why I have a soft spot for mothers . It is not easy to juggle career, kids and weight management but it can be done. If I can do it, I believe anybody can if they put their heart to it. Nothing is more wonderful than to be healthy and at your ideal weight. You can move on in life and focus on other aspects of life and enjoy being with your kids. Most importantly, to be confident in your own skin and enjoy the blessings of life. Thus I have set up Haslinda Ali’s Weight Management System so that I can share my system of staying slim no matter how many pregnancies you have gone through and no matter at what age.
